Tuesday April 1, 1997 was the day that Dave Winer launched Scripting News. It was the first weblog ever and this was his first post. As Dave says:
“If you’re interested in the roots of blogging, you’ll find a lot of treasure here.”
I dug around a bit and indeed most links are broken. But make sure you check out the “Web ads are intrusive” post and the reply by Wesley Felter:
“On the Internet, anything that you can trade is currency”.
Boy, were these guys right.
