Read a post over at GigaOm by Raghav Gupta titled “Can social tools save plain ole’ radio?”:
“While music social networks face challenges in becoming standalone businesses, they are services that consumers will use. After all, the basic needs of connecting to others through music and discovering new music haven’t gone away and indeed are becoming more acute.”
Isn’t this what e.g. Last.fm is all about? Even though Gupta mentiones the same example in his piece I think he doesn’t totally grasps what it is all about. Thought I would check first through Techmeme if someone noticed this as well – and Stowe Boyd does. Unbelievable.
