Who are you?

I didn’t notice but a few weeks ago Tim O’Reilly did a post on Spock (tnx Maarten for the pointer!). In short, it’s a people search engine and for what I can see off the screen shots I really like its approach and features.

And I agree with Tim’s following notion:

“It will be interesting to see how Spock balances people’s desire to manage their own image with the public data the search engine find”.

My guess is that people being searched for will be really hesitant to join a conversation they didn’t start, especially if a number of people out there are not interested in giving a balanced view on who a certain person is. They might prefer to offer their own perspective on another location. Which could then be included by the (UPDATE) SYSTEM OR OTHER PEOPLE as a link on their Spock profile 😉
