Early adopters vs. late majority

Just a reminder for myself and when you are designing a new Web service you might benefit from this thought from Jason Calacanis as well:

“The fact is, if folks who are in the .001% of the internet population are in love with our service that’s probably a BAD SIGN.”

This is not a pitch for Mahalo – that’s a seperate discussion. But I’ve discussed this issue often with friends when a new, funky service launched and also with regard to the service I’m currently working on and it is easy to overlook the fact that I am, and you probably are as well, part of the .001%.
