Don’t know where I’m going

This is exactly what I don’t like about shortened URL’s, such as the use of TinyURL in Twitter:  you don’t know where you are going. As a reason, I often don’t click, because on the Net, I want to call the shots. Call me selfish if you want…

  1. @carpy: imho it depends. Strictly talking about Twitter it is much more a question of the relevance and authority the posting party has in your book. This defines if you will click. Not the url.

  2. Interesting. I have a question. I f you could choose, what would you prefer to accompany the TinyURL, a comment by the person who posted it, or (part of) the page title? Cheers.
